I wish a had a magic wand that would allow me to say, “STRESS BE GONE!” and I could wave it and “WHOMP!” I’d feel the anxiety, worry and stress wash away from me.
Sadly, I’ve not created that yet. But I can get close with the use of healing crystals. It’s not an instant fix. Healing emotions takes work and intention to make the changes you seek. Crystals partner with those intentions to allow you to work with their energies to find a sense of balance and calm.
So how do I do that???? You might be asking.
First, you need to discover a crystal. There are SO many out there, so it can be daunting at times to be able to pick the right one. If you don’t already have a favourite book or website you use, feel free to check out my site at Wicked Stones where I have a list of healing crystals and their healing properties. Read up on the healing properties and see how you feel inside. Is there a type of stone or a colour that is calling to you? That just feels right? Then follow that path to see where it leads.
Once you have your crystal, it’s time to work with it. I’m jumping ahead a few steps here as there are going to be more posts on how to cleanse your gemstones and connect with it. An effective way of dealing with stressful situations, moods and situations, is to use breathing techniques for calmness while having your crystal with you. You may be wearing it around your neck or holding it in the palm of your hands. It depends on your unique crystal. Find a quiet place that you can sit and spend time alone without being disturbed for a period of time.
Steps for calming your thoughts:
Find a place where there are few distractions – you can even choose to go to your car if you have one just to find a bit of peace.
Turn off or mute your phone. Don’t worry, it wont be for long.
Hold your crystal in the palm of your hand OR if it’s a jewelry piece, ensure you are touching it.
Find a comfortable position.
Take a few moments to bring about a state of relaxation by taking a deep breath through your nose, expanding your lungs and diaphragm.
Hold the breath for a few seconds.
Slowly exhale through your mouth. Do this several times until you feel relaxed.
As you are breathing, allow the energy from the crystal to align with you and give you a touch point to focus on.
Feel the stone’s energy (calming flows, soothing, stability or whatever the crystal you are using helps you with). Allow it to align with your intentions as you breathe in and out. For worry, anxiety and stress, allow the crystal’s calming vibrations to flow through you and release the negative energy.
Continue to breathe and visualize this calm energy flowing through you.
If you sense negative energy coming to the surface in your thoughts, try to visualize this energy as a colour or shape and allow it to flow out of you and gently into the ground. Give it time to flow from you as you no longer need it to support your intention of peace.
Try to do this for at least five minutes to release tension.
When you are done, take a moment to rest before getting up. Too quickly, and your balance may be off. Open your eyes and bring your breathing back to normal.
A quick tip to help restore balance before standing up, is to put the palms of your hand on the ground and release the energy you have been working with and say “thank you for your help.” Think of tree roots and how they reach into the ground and allow anything excess you don’t need to support you in your calmer mood, to go back to the earth.
Wait until you feel a bit more alert and ready to continue on with your day.
You can find peace. You can embrace serenity and calm. Release that which no longer is helping you.
The cats had me up. The humidity was awful. I just woke up cranky and needing several cups of Java to pick me up.
Had I been thinking? I might have reached over and tucked a piece of Rutile Quartz under my pillow last night.
So what’s a Rutile Quartz and why do I want to use it?
Rutile quartz crystals have a very calming effect on the mind. They allow you to tap into your intentions of relaxation and feel calmer. They are super great for when stress is getting to you and you just need to remember to relax and breath – one, two three, I CAN DO THIS! This is one of many types of relaxation and calming crystals that I have available on my website. Feel free to click here if you’d like to see more.
Let’s dispel a myth for a second here: Crystals are not instant fixes. You can’t just put one on and go AH, see? Now I’m better! They can, however, work quickly, if you have used them before and are in the habit of how to connect with their energies. I’d love to tell you that you can tuck one under your pillow and WHAMMO BLAMMO you have instant sleep! But, you do need to work a bit with the stone first.
Step 1: Sit with your crystal and look at it. This is called “getting to know” your crystal or “connecting with it”. Roll it in your hands, look at it, touch it. Really look at it and discover its beauty, it’s nooks and crannies, its faults or bumps. This is your new companion as you start your new journey.
Step 2: Tell the crystal what you want it to do for you. This is called “charging” your stone. You are announcing to yourself, the universe and to the crystal that this is its job. For Rutile Quartz, announce (tell, charge) the stone by saying something like this: “You are going to help me to relax. You are going to help me to let go of my busy thoughts. When I hold you in my hands, I WILL feel relaxed. I will be able to let go of my thoughts. I CAN relax. I can put away my busy thoughts!” (Use whatever words you feel are right.) Do this every day for a while. Pick a time where your day is quiet and you won’t be interrupted for a few moments. If you meditate, you can do this at the same time.
Step 3: Relax. Put your stone where it’s going to be kept at night (under your pillow, while you are wearing it, etc) and let your mind accept that this is your new partner, friend or companion with your goals. Now and then during the day, think about your stone and how it’s going to be there for you when you need it. If you are wearing it? Touch it now and then and remember for a few seconds that this crystal is going to help you when you are going through some tough times ahead. It is powerful. It is strong and it will be there for you.
Step 4: When needing to relax, use your crystal. Hold it in your hands, touch it, stroke it and know that it can help you to relax and let go of busy thoughts (if this is the case). As you are doing this say in your mind (or out loud if you’d like) something like: “I am relaxing. I am calm. 1.2.3.4.etc… I am going to let go of my thoughts that bother me.” And whenever those busy thoughts get to you? Try the same thing. After a while you will feel the connection between your crystal and how it works with you knowing you are focusing your intentions and using the crystals energy to help you.
Does this always work?
This technique works with a LOT of people as you are making a change with your mind to alter your thought patterns (when it come to relaxation for example). But not everyone will be successful. There may be outside influences or chemistry in the body that just doesn’t allow for some changes to be made.
There is no set time limit on how long it will take for you to be able to access the healing crystal’s energy. It may be immediate or it may take you longer time. Some individuals are very connected to the energy around them and will feel the effects sooner, while others struggle with accepting that a “stone” can help them at all. I have had clients who have immediately been drawn to a crystal and known that “THIS IS THE ONE! YES!” I’ve talked to others who just didn’t get it at all. “Its a stone man… a rock. Period. End of story.” And that’s okay. Some individuals just are not able to connect with this type of healing and need their own style of relaxation techniques. If this is the case for you? Perhaps you have a friend who could use your crystal. All it needs is a little cleansing and it’s good to move on to it’s new home.
Once and a while I find these awesome beauties in my collection. What you are seeing is a gorgeous natural crystal from Tibet. Tibet crystals are really powerful if you are looking for something that can help you attune to OM vibrations.
Okay now that this is aside, why do “I” want to use a crystal that attunes to the OM vibration? Let’s look into that.
First, what’s an OM?
Om is a Mantra (a sound, or a vibration to make things sound easier) that is traditionally chanted during certain points in your meditation or yoga practices. This Mantra (or sound) is said to have a very high creative and spiritual power to help with your healing intentions.
Let’s practice! How do I say this word?
It actually sounds like the letters A U M put together. Here’s a fabulous video so that you can hear this sound:
Try this: Say the word AWWWEEEEEEE and feel it from the back of your throat. Really pull the sound deep from within you. Then say OOOOOOOO by making the sound in the upper part of your mouth. Then feel your lips closer together saying MMMMMM (like you just tasted something incredible.)
Alright, now you have that. So WHY do I want to do that?
Think about our Earth. Everything is moving. It’s vibrating. It’s energy. It’s pulsating and electrical and there is so much happening that you can’t actually see. Chanting the OM Mantra is connecting to that universal natural energies around you. Here’s a few reasons why you might want to do such a thing:
Helps you with your own self healing power
Relaxation
Concentration and focus
It is said to purify the area around you and even the people around you as the vibrations spread
Creation of positive energy and vibrations
Helps with relaxation (dealing with stress! Who doesn’t need THAT?)
Helps you to think clearer and make decisions (helps you to relax and overactive mind and thoughts so you can see answers to your questions)
When working with crystals (such as these) you can help attune your crystals with your intentions while meditating and chanting OM. Especially helpful if you are working with a particular crystal that goes hand in hand with OM energy.
Now this is only scratching the surface of working with Mantras, chanting and meditation. There’s a lot you can learn to help you along your own personal healing journey from teachers, friends and even books and videos on self help. It’s a positive step to work with your own personal healing energies so matter what items you choose to work with (crystals, tools etc).
As humans, we sometimes forget that our pets feel stress. They get emotional, upset and overwhelmed with life. Just as we use healing crystals for ourselves, we can impart some of this to our cats and dogs as well.
So how do they work?
Inherently, crystals offer emotional support and healing to the wearer. But also, you can add your intentions and good vibes (or feelings) to the stone yourself and then give them as a gift to your cat or dog. Each type of crystal has it’s own type of healing properties.
Please note: crystals do not replace proper veterinary health care. The use of crystals goes hand in hand with the proper care that your doctor suggests for your four legged friend. They are companions in their care and should never EVER replace the advice of your pet’s healthcare doctors.
So how do I do that?
It’s a very easy thing to do and here are a few steps you can follow. And honestly, there are no rules to this, you can do whatever feels right to you.
When your crystal arrives, cleanse the stone if you wish. This removes any residual energy that the crystal may have picked up on its journey to you.
Take the time to touch the stone after you have cleansed it. Hold it in your hands and let it warm up to your skin temperature.
Close your eyes and visualize the healing properties you wish to see the crystal help your pet with. Don’t just do this for a second, take a minute or two and tell the crystal what you would like it to do for your pet.
When you feel you are finished, add the crystal to your pet’s collar and spend time with your pet visualizing the healing properties working in tandem with your pet’s care to help them to feel better.
It’s really important to note that crystals are companions along your pet’s life journey. Just like they are for you, they are there for emotional support when you need them. Sometimes? The universe has other plans for our four legged friends and they are only meant to be with us for short periods of time. But during that time, perhaps your gift can help them through the tough spots and also help them to feel your love in times of stress.
Something good to note, crystals are fragile and with very active pets they can be damaged quickly. If you are going to follow along a journey of having one for your loved one, it’s always good to enter into this knowing and understanding that this is a possible outcome. Over the years of working with humans to help their cats and dogs, there is more of a trend that crystals go missing on dogs than cats.
Bills.. dishes.. let the dog out.. did I let the dog out? bills…. paperwork.. taxes.. where did I put that receipt? Did I unplug the flat iron? Oh damn, my laundry is still in the wash and it’s 10pm! Ugh.. did I let the dog out on time? Oh I hope she does not pee on the floor.. Is the house on fire? I’m sure I unplugged the flat iron!..
UGH! We all get this.. the nagging thoughts that get in our way when we are trying to do something quiet and calm with our minds and bodies. In this case, you could try working with a piece of Amethyst to see if it may help you to soothe those thoughts and focus on what you are trying to accomplish.
If you have a piece you are ready to work with, try closing your eyes, relaxing and letting the stone connect with you. Feel it in your hands (if you are holding it) or let it touch your skin if it’s a piece of jewelry. Take a few minutes to breath deeply and let those daily stresses leave you and sink back to Mother Earth (it’s okay, any negative energies won’t hurt the earth, it’s there for you to release them so you can heal and move on.) It may take more than once or twice to feel a difference, but every time you meditate or relax, try to caress or feel the stone and allow it to partner with you to filter down those busy-bee-babbling-inner-thoughts. After a while you may suddenly be aware that you *are* relaxed and calm.
I often will use Amethyst when I am doing my Yoga practices as it helps me to block out all those naggy thoughts – like exactly the ones you see above!) LOL… and yes it does help me. I’ve talked with other clients over the years who have also had great success with this type of healing crystal. It may be worth a try if you are having trouble with those rambling thoughts like this.
I do try to keep this crystal in stock in my shop at Wicked Stones as it’s a regular one that folks end up picking up. If you don’t see any? Send me a note and I’ll get right back to you if we have any in the shop just waiting to get put up.
You can relax.. you can let go of all the muddle fuddle in your mind and focus..
Today I’d like to ramble on about the Root Chakra and how it effects your daily life.
If you are new to dealing with Chakra Energy, it can be overwhelming when you first start because there is a lot of information to gather to help you to understand how it all works.
Here’s a basic quick run down on what a Chakra is:
A chakra is like a center of energy that swirls around and corresponds to particular nerve center of our bodies. These are a part of our major organs as well as our emotional, spiritual and psychological make ups. There are seven major sections you can work with but in this posting, I’m going to address just the Root Area.
I don’t recall the source of this image
So now you have an idea of what the Chakra are – this is what they do.
Everything in the world changes, moves and flows – as do our Chakra. But sometimes these areas get blocked and like a sink drain, clog up and cause problems. The worst scenario I can compare it to is when your plumbing gets clogged and you end up with a steaming mess to deal with (yuk!) So now take that visual and think about your energy centers. When a Chakra is open and flowing, so is your energy and so is your health and well being. Now as far as how you begin working with a Chakra and getting it to flow correctly, as you travel along this life’s journey, you are going to discover many avenues to achieve this goal. What I am going to write today may be only one way of many you could pick from – when it comes to healing the mind and body I always suggest that you learn and work with what works best with you, personally! And as always, never replace this type of healing with regular doctor visits – stay safe and healthy in all the ways you can. 🙂
So where is your Root Chakra and tell me more about it.
This particular Chakra is often called the Base Chakra (or Root and Muladhara). It is located between your legs (coccyx) at the base (or root) of your spine.
I have seen it represented in a variety of colours – Red, dark browns and blacks. Personally? I have used all three colours when working with this Chakra to see if they resonate with my healing and each of them work for me. But if you feel more strongly pulled to one of these colours? Please do work with them as you should listen to your inner voice.
This area is the grounding force that connects us to the Earth’s energy and helps to empower who we are. The Root Chakra helps us to deal with the tasks given to us and it gives you the ability to stand up for yourself and feel secure. This Chakra is our sense of survival and our right to exist. It is the rock of our on which your entire Chakra system and all the energy in your body rely upon.
Go away – my root chakra is blocked and I don’t want to deal with any of this.. bahhhh
Okay, now for my personalexperiences – life sometimes gives me too much to handle and I begin to feel overwhelmed and when that happens? I start feeling sad, which then turns to exhaustion, which THEN turns into something even more annoying – depression. I start getting thoughts like: “Bahhhhhhh, I can’t deal with this.. this stinks.. I don’t want to get up and go to work.. baaahhhhhh.. I should just stay in bed, what does it matter if I go anywhere… who cares.. bah bah bah…” Um hum, that‘s healthy!! (NOT!) I’m a high energy person, I know how to get things done and when this mood hits me? I know I have a blockage in my emotional plumbing somewhere. (Yes that IS me in the photo up there.)
Here’s a bit more detailed info for you to gnaw on:
An imbalance in the Root Chakra can show up in many ways.
A chronic lack of energy with exhaustion after even a slight bit of exercise
Stiffness and painful movement in hips, legs, feet and lower back
Poor coordination
Lack of circulation in hands and feet
Depression and self esteem issues
Feeling a lack of security
(check! Check! CHECK!) Yes I get this a lot…
How to use the stones to work with my Chakra
Okay, check! I have my stone! Now what? If you are sitting there holding a gem going “um okay.. am I fixed yet?”, you still have some work to do. You are going to discover that there are multitudes of ways you can use – no way is the best way and no way is the worst – you should try a few out and see what works best for you. If you dealing with some of those symptoms, you should also look at mundane physical reasons as well and not just rely on what I’m writing here. So here is how I work with the stones to achieve my goals and you can take this info and see if it works for you.
First, I find something to help me to find a focus point to work with this Chakra. That’s where the gemstones come into play. I also want to point out that for most of my clients, working with Chakra healing, balancing and opening, is not an instant fix. You can’t just put on a piece of jewelry and expect sudden results – you use the stones with your intentions and focus of energy to achieve these goals.
The above photo is a very simple healing stone pendant that is made of Red Jasper. You can find other grounding crystals by visiting Wicked Stones.
When it comes to the Root Chakra, this involves how you are connected to the Earth itself. You could carry a gem that corresponds to this area in your pocket or wear it as a piece of jewelry and get your hands in the earth and garden. Pottery making and pulling weeds, also helps in it’s own way, to connect you to what is below you and keeping you solid on the ground. As you are working, relax, breath and allow negative energy to flow from your fingertips and back to the earth below. This helps to lower your tension levels and release some of the negative bobojees you may have inside of you stop blocking this area.
If you can, lay or sit down on the ground and use your focal stone on the area in question – if you can’t do this outside? You can meditate and relax anywhere you need to.
Even if you are at work in the office, find a quiet location and try this:
Take slow relaxing breaths and allow yourself to connect more fully to the ground below. Visualization is an excellent tool here so begin imagining this chakra (as a spiral of energy), being clear and flowing. Ask yourself what you need to release in order to feel better – is it stress over a job you didn’t complete? Is it bills or finances that are out of your control? Can you find a way to understand that you can worry about these things and then allow the thoughts to move through you and be released while STILL understanding their importance, but NOT lingering on the emotional baggage they create? If it’s important, you do not need to let go of a problem or issue but you can allow the energy to flow through you and “RELEASE” instead of clogging up in your thoughts and causing physical burdens.
This is where good meditation practices come in to play. If you work with yoga practices, try these techniques.
If you don’t feel you can meditate successfully, put on headphones and allow the soothing sounds to wash over you and help you to stop gritting your teeth and feeling the strain. Relax in other ways that work for you, could it be exercise or jogging? Going for a walk? Every step you take, you are connected to the earth below and you CAN allow negative energy and blockages to leave you. Allow your body to release the toxins back into the ground (where it will be washed clean by the rains) and begin to feel the strength of the earth connect to you and give you the strength to deal with what IS and what MAY come.
With this Chakra open and balanced, you have the power inside of you to be exactly who you are with strength and power.
Ah the beauty of Hematite…. A little info on it and it’s healing properties.
Hematite is one of those types of stones that you almost always see at a gem show and rock shops you stumble across in your travels. It’s found in various places across the world and that’s probably the reason why it seems like a more commonly seen gemstone. We are usually drawn to it because it’s so shiny and pretty! In it’s natural state, it’s somewhat dull looking but when it gets polished! YOWSA!!
On the MOHS hardness scale, it’s between a 5 – 6, which means it’s pretty hard. The interesting thing about hematite is that it’s also very heavy (or dense). It’s actually a mineral from the Iron Oxide family which gives it more weight that you would expect for the size of the stone. That’s important when you are choosing jewelry online and you can’t hold it, to realize that this gem may weight a bit more than you think. Always ask if you would like to know the weight of your jewelry before purchasing. Personally I have worn hematite rings throughout the years and I have also found that if they are dropped on hard surface, they do tend to break. So if you have a stone ring, take it off carefully when you removing it.
A lot of my clients who I have worked with over the years, have told me how the temperature changes on the gem when they wear it. It begins cool against the skin and then warms to your body temperature, making it a lovely companion piece.
A little side note on Magnetic Hematite: I have worked with it over the years and it’s very important to note that natural hematite is not very magnetic at all. If you are purchasing magnetic jewelry please note that it is treated to achieve this goal. I do sell magnetic jewelry so if you are looking for a piece, please visit Wicked Stones and I may be able to custom make you something special just for you.
It’s interesting to note that in ancient times, Hematite was crushed and mixed with liquids to use as paints. You can find such examples (or pictographs) across the world that date back over 40 000 years! I was lucky enough to visit several locations in our Ontario Provincial Parks that have the most awesome historical pieces (one in Sault St. Marie area and one near Bancroft Ontario).
If you are searching for the healing properties of Hematite, here’s a bit of info for you. Hematite is helpful for the following:
Boosting low self esteem
Protection
Grounding energy (makes you feel centered and strong when life is going a bit wild around you)
Courage to face changes in your life
Reflects back negative energy being directed at you
Hematite is also a gem for your root chakra healing and balancing. The Root chakra is also called the Muladharaor or Base Chakra. This chakra helps you to feel stable and centered with both feet on the ground. Let me put this in a very easy way: You know that feeling you get when life is going a bit wild on you and you just want everyone to stop because you are feeling overwhelmed with so much going on? By working with this chakra, you can help yourself to feel more “centered” in what is happening around you and focused with confidence and strength. Your root chakra is like your tree roots that keep you anchored to the planet and feeling strong!
I hope you enjoyed this little bit of info on Hematite.
I loved how I felt during the class and the amazing feeling of calmness that I had for days afterwards. It was at that point that I started working with healing stones to help enhance and make a deeper meditative connection to this healing process. (I wont be posting a photo of me doing Yoga here anytime soon as I’m about as graceful as a ostrich in a mud puddle and you’d just laugh yourself off your chair.) 🙂
Once the class was over, I noticed that my stones carried a residual energy of my experiences… it was lovely!! So I decided to being hand crafting a line of jewelry to pass that potential feeling along to you.
Here are a few ideas of gemstones you could wear to help you during your Yoga and meditation practices.
Amethyst: During meditations Amethyst helps to turn thoughts away from the mundane into tranquility and deeper understanding. It is a stone of new ideas.
Quartz Crystal has an enlightening effect on all the Chakras and helps to eliminate negative energy. Often used as a “cleansing” stone to restore positive energy and used in meditations. It raises energy and aids concentration. Some use this stone for divination, building psychic abilities and helping during meditations. It also amplifies any innate psychic or healing powers and is used to increase the power of prayer (especially for healing).
Carnelian: During meditation it can help to remove extraneous thoughts and sharpen your concentration. It calms anger, emotional negativity and replaces it with a love of life. It is a grounding stone that anchors you in the present reality and stabilizes with high energy.
These are just a few ideas and I’ll be posting more as my blog grows larger and larger…
Please note though.. if you are going to wear a stone pendant you should consider using a shorter necklace length so that the stone does not hang down in front of your face during some Yoga poses.
Yes, in my secret world beyond this computer screen, I’m an artist.
I spent several years of my life in College here in Northern Ontario and met some amazing people who helped me to be able to reach inside of myself and bring out my creative side. Being creative is an incredibly healing way of letting your inner thoughts be released into the universe!
An artist is not just one who paints or draws, an artist is someone who writes, or speaks.. or works with various medium that might seem non traditional to others. It might be photography, crafting, working with clay, telling stories, singing, dancing… there are no limits to what lays inside of you that you can tap into for expression.
So now let’s tie my two passions together shall we? Yes, you can use gemstonesto help you to reach inside of yourself to find that creative spark!
How does that work exactly? Well, its tricky since I can’t really see inside of your brain to see how you are personally wired 🙂 So I’ll try to simplify things for you. Gemstones are again, like Trigger tools (like I talked about in my previous post about dealing with stress here in this blog). Working with crystals and gems is an ancient art that has been used for many rotations of our planet.
Gems emit an energy that you can connect to and depending on the stone type, this energy can help work with an area of change you are seeking. In this case, we’re talking today about creativity. Over time, those who have worked with gems have recorded their findings – even my own clients have gotten back to me over the decades to talk to me about how individual crystals work with them and benefit their lives.
Working with healing stones at Wicked Stones
People, just like you, have connected with particular stones for their needs and found that they do help. It has been used for so long now that others have written books about these findings and they are now being used by the masses as reference points to use for gemstone healing.
So how do I use them?
Because stones emit an energy that helps to connect (or align) with your creativity, the best method is to begin wearing a particular type of stone that really calls to you. When I say “calls to you” I mean, that emotionally you get a feeling of “OOOAHH” when you see it and you just know you want to have this in your life.
Let the stone connect with you and be a part of your creative process and be aware that it is with you on this journey. After a time, you and your stone will develop a sort of kinship or bond that you may find will help uplift your mind and spirit to connect with those energies you need for creative thinking.
We are all individuals and a stone that might work for person (a) may not work for person (b). So when choosing YOUR gem, don’t let others try to tell you what you should have. Use your instincts to pick your healing stone, do your research on what a stone can do and then, go with your hearts desire 🙂
Be Creative!
Be Inspired!
You can do it…. 🙂
And ps.. I use gems personally when I am suffering from writers block as well as when I’m working with paints and other artist’s media.
Today I want to talk about Stress and gemstone healing…
I’m going to come clean here a bit.. I suffer from stress. Yes indeed I do. I think we all have trigger points and aggravating moments in our lives that cause us to grit our teeth, clench and hold our breath and take in far too much negative energy that we don’t really need in our lives.
Yes I get stressed too..
That’s me, feeling stress? Can you see it? LOL…Yes I get cranky, moody, and quite frankly, sometimes just miserable to be around because I let stress get to me. I let little things bother me that in the grand scheme of things, I should not. Sound familiar? Okay then, lets read on together shall we?
Using Gemstones to help deal with your stress
Let’s start by making a statement that I think is important to understand. Using gemstones for healing purpose (in my OPINION) is not an instant fix. Most can’t put on a stone and then turn on a dime and go “OH I feel AWESOME!” For the most part, gems are not items that suddenly, magically and immediately fix problems – they can help you to achieve your goals in a matter that works with you personally and at your own speed.
I do have clients who I’ve worked with over the decades that have told me that they feel an immediate response to their stones but for the average person it takes a bit of time to get to know your stone and feel its beneficial effects.
So how do you work with them so they can help you?
Since we’re talking about stressful situations today, we’ll focus on how to work with stones and this particular issue. Let’s say you have found a stone you want to work with and you are anxious for it to begin helping you to get rid of that negative energy that’s been plaguing you. Here’s the first few steps you should take in starting this journey with your healing gem.
Cleansing helps to remove any negative energy that may be on your stone upon arrival AND energy that you have built up in your stone after wearing it for a time.
Start wearing your stone – yes this is a simple step but it’s the first in really getting to know how your gem is going to feel as you begin working with it.
Since we are dealing with stress and anxiety, when you begin wearing your stone visualize calming energy coming from your gem and surrounding you as you go about your day. It can be a mental image of soft clouds, a colour, a pattern, sun’s rays.. everyone will have their own mental pictures of what “calmness” means to them. Personally for me? I visualize the energy of the sun coming from my stones, the heat, the warm and it’s peaceful energy surrounding me.. it really helps!
Take a few minutes out of every day that you are wearing your stone to STOP! Stop what you are doing when things get far too stressed and full of worry and get away from the situation at hand (if you can and do it safely – if you are stressed while driving your car this is a different matter all together. Take a few moments and breathe! When our bodies and minds are stressed we forget to do this very simple thing and hold our emotions and muscles with tension. This builds after time and you need to learn how to release it. Hold your stone with your hands and make a connection between healing breaths, good energy and releasing the tension you can feel inside of you body.
A quick form of meditation is to take deep cleansing breaths, in and out, and imagine the stress leaving you and good healing energy coming back to you. IN combination with your healing stone, the minerals in your gem can help you to connect with this action and after time, your stone will become a trigger point to help you to release build up stress and anxiety -it can become your go-to tool to help let go of things that are bothering you.
There is no time limit or schedule on how long you will have to do this – everyone will be different.
